A screenshot lands in the group chat. There are some numbers, a game name and a message saying the draw is soon. It may look like enough information. It isn’t enough to understand an entry.
Before buying a ticket, give yourself a few minutes to check the details on Golotto. You should know what the ticket means without needing somebody else to explain it afterwards.
1. Check the game, not just the numbers
Different games can use different number pools, matching conditions and prize tables. Knowing a selection for one game does not tell you how another works. Start with the full game name and the rules for that game.
2. Check the entry deadline separately
The time a draw starts and the time entries close may be different. Look for both, along with the draw date. If you’re unsure which draw your entry belongs to, pause before confirming it.
3. Read the ticket as a whole
Check your numbers, play variant where applicable, draw and total cost. A small entry price does not tell you the total if several selections are included. Make sure that total is within a limit you decided beforehand.
4. Keep a record you can find
Save the ticket or digital confirmation and check that its details match what you intended. Read how entries are validated and how qualifying prizes are claimed. Don’t wait until after the result to discover that you don’t understand the process.
5. Check results through our channels
A forwarded screenshot may be incomplete or relate to a different draw. Compare your entry with the results on Golotto or our draw broadcast. If it qualifies, follow our prize claim process.
Need the details for a particular game?
The useful habit is the same for each one: check first, understand what you’re reading and decide without rushing. You can always choose not to enter.
